Year 2 are going ‘Under the Sea!’

By 19th April 2018Year 2
We have so many things to look forward to this term, which has already started off with a bang for “Art and Music week”.
Our theme in Year 2 has been animals and the children’s interests have veered towards under the sea. Earlier in the week the children had an exciting assembly with Miss Cole and Mrs Lawton where they explored lots of different materials, listened to music and discussed how this made them feel. We have continued this idea into the classroom where we listened to Carnival of the Animals and they created their own under the sea scenes, using a choice of different materials. The children are looking forward to showcasing their art work to you all on Friday.
In Maths we have been looking at multiplication and division, including division with remainders. The children have recapped using arrays to solve number problems and are using their knowledge of number facts to derive the answer to questions.
We have sent home new Buster’s Book Club bookmarks for the Summer term! Please fill these in on a Wednesday.
