Infant Agility Festival 2018

On Wednesday 25th April, ten children from Year 2 represented our school at the Dartford School Games: Infant Agility Festival. This is a competitive event aimed at children in Key Stage 1. The children took part in a series of field events, demonstrating their balancing, throwing, bowling and jumping skills. Each school was scored on a points system and the overall highest achieving team goes on to represent Dartford at the Kent School Games final.

The festival was split into a morning and afternoon session and Joydens Wood Infants came in 6th place out of 14 schools! What an achievement!

The children had an amazing time and represented our school brilliantly, showing all of our school values. They were ready, responsible, respectful and resilient! We are all hugely proud of all of you, well done!

Here’s what some of the children thought:

EW “My favourite event was the long jump because I kept getting two points. I challenged myself to go further every time.”

FS- “I liked the bowling because I knocked down all the skittles on my last go. It was really fun!”

MG- “My favourite was the long jump because I got further and further every time. The side step jump was really tricky and it made my legs really tired!”
