This week the children have been busy baking in preparation for our Christmas themed bake off! We have learnt about the designing process and how we develop and evaluate different products. We have also written recipes for the items we have made!
At Home Challenge: Can you write another recipe and show how it works in action?
In Maths the children have been using the ‘make ten’ strategies and have worked on partitioning numbers.
For example:
8 + 5 = 13
So we split 5 into 2 and 3 because we know our number bonds to ten!
8 + 2 = 10
10 + 3 = 13
At Home Challenge: Can you practise the number bonds to 10?
In Phonics the children have learnt the split digraphs o_e as in phone and bone and u_e as in tube and flume. Please use the phonics homework to practise these sounds.
