We have had a very exciting week in Reception with two of our cohort getting married! Matilda the rabbit and Frances the dog decided to tie the knot after being inspired by the children’s recent interest in weddings.
There was great excitement in the build up to the nuptials as the children made decorations, cakes, cards, and gifts for the happy couple. We have practised various dance moves, looked at clothing that people from different cultures wear to weddings, which then inspired us to make our own! Some children have made jewellery and various head attire to wear on the big day. We even had a few boys who were keen to take the role of security guards! They wrote lists of people who would be allowed into the wedding and ensured that they would have (homemade) walkie-talkies to hand so as to avoid any unsavoury characters spoiling the celebrations.
Both children and staff had a brilliant time and were very thankful to be involved in the happy couple’s celebrations. I wonder what next week shall bring…?!
Brilliant… Art, Dance, English, PSHE, home economics…what a wonderful way to learn 🙂
