As the countdown to Christmas begins we have had a really exciting week preparing for The Great Christmas Bake-Off! The children have had great fun designing their yummy treats before getting their hands dirty making them (and licking them clean again!) Linked to this we have been thinking about money in Maths; investigating giving change, how to make a profit and working out how much things are worth. This will put us in good stead for Enterprise Week next week too.
Have a go at home with your children dealing with money in real life situations. You could keep some of your receipts and get your children to pay for the items and give the correct change. Or you could set up your own shop or let them pay for items when you are in a real shop!
In English we have written instructions for making our bake-off items. The children had to think carefully about the correct order to ensure the outcome is correct and then they were able to follow their instructions to make their chocolatey creation. We will be putting all of our goodies together to make a fabulous scene based around Candyland! We look forward to seeing you at the Bake-Off!
