Once upon a time…

By 17th November 2017Reception

We have had yet another fun packed week this week!

On Tuesday we had a visit from Mrs Parr who taught us some new yoga moves!  We imagined that we were on a journey, riding rowing boats through twisty trees.  We then pretended to be the animals that we saw on our journey, including arching cats, snapping crocodiles and ROARING tigers!

We have been baking again this week, making delicious flapjacks whilst learning how to use electronic scales to weigh ingredients.  The children were very interested in the big numbers used in the recipe and even had a go at writing some of them down using numbers past 100!

There has been a huge interest this week in making puppets and putting on puppet shows.  Tickets have been sold, snacks have been made and lots of children have enjoyed both telling and listening to stories using handmade and our traditional story character puppets.  We have been really impressed with the children’s story telling skills as they have ‘wowed’ us with their language, ideas for characters, and use of traditional tales to create new ones.  Well done boys and girls!
