As temperatures soar this week to kick off the Summer Term, we have an absolutely jam-packed term of competitions and challenges to encourage our children to read on a Wednesday night.
Our writing competition for this term is to become the Boss of Diggerland for the day! The winning child will get to meet Dougie and Dotty, check and test the rides and instruct staff across the site on their activities and duties for the day. Challenge Days for the Summer Term are as follows:
Wednesday 25th April – One lucky school will win a story-time session with Kent author Anthony Cooper and every child at the school will receive a copy of his book!
Wednesday 2nd May – One lucky school will win a story-time session with CBeebies star Joanna Adeyinka-Burford
Wednesday 9th May – One lucky school will win a 2 hour falconry lesson/display from Joe’s Bows Country Sports
Wednesday 23rd May – Top or most improved class in each district will win Diggerland tickets. PLUS one lucky school will win a story-time session with Dancing on Ice star Cheryl Baker
Wednesday 6th June – Top or most improved class in each district will win Leeds Castle tickets. PLUS one lucky school will win a story-time session with Panto Dame of the year 2017 – Ben Roddy
Wednesday 4th July – The 2 top or most improved classes in each district will win Canterbury Tales or Pirate Cove Adventure Golf vouchers
Remember to read, listen to a story or share a book at home each Wednesday and record your minutes on the bookmark ready for them to be totalled on Thursday mornings. The winner for each week will be announced in the Values Assembly on Friday mornings.
