Yet another busy week in Year 2! In English the children have created their own stories after being inspired by the book ‘Orion and the Dark’. They created some excellent story maps with a wide range of vocabulary and used these as their plans for writing.
In Maths we have been developing our reasoning skills when talking about addition. The children had to show and prove their answers, using a wide range of resources and provide different examples to support their statements. Let’s see if they can convince you that the sum of two odd numbers always gives an even answer!
We were also lucky enough to have some science experts from Wilmington Grammar School visit us to do some interesting experiments. These included mixing skittles in water and milk and observing the changes. As well as this, we were shocked by the explosive result of mixing Mentos and Coke! Thank you to Miss Daniels for organising!
